Hosting - a place to call your own
Now that you’ve got a domain name and
your web site has been built, you’ll be looking for a place for it to
live. You’ll need to secure your own plot of cyberspace.
Many Internet Service Providers (i.e..
AOL, Freeserve, Virgin etc.) provide you with webspace when you sign up
for their services and although this space can be used, it suffers from
some limitations:-
-
Many
ISP's add their own adverts to your webspace, making the website
obscured with unwanted adverts and pop-up windows, some of them
similar to what you are selling. This is extremely annoying to
customers and they will certainly go elsewhere.
-
Some limit the amount of data that can
be transferred per month (commonly called bandwidth), which means if
your website is popular it could be restricted once this limit is
exceeded.
-
If you have a business web site, it is
not good practice to have it mixed up with your personal webspace and
emails. Especially if you wish to sell it, or its assets, at any time.
-
Some ISPs forbid the use of personal
webspace for business purposes.
Cyberstorm cyberspace
As part of our web design solution,
Cyberstorm is partnered with a UK based web hosting service provider,
Skymarket (www.skymarket.co.uk).
They provide a reliable, cost-effective and secure hosting service so we
spend our time on our customers, not on their hosting problems.
Enough web space for a medium sized business web site will cost around
£50 per year.
Once your website is placed on the internet it does not stop there.
Cyberstorm monitors the amount of visitors your site is attracting,
where they are coming from and which words they are using to find your
site via the various search engines.
Regular updating of the site is essential to keep your site accurate and
fresh and to make it as easy as possible to find using the major search
engines.

designed please go to the PORTFOLIO page.
